Install Elasticsearch 7.6.x on CentOS – for beginners

Install Java before you install Elasticsearch
>sudo yum install java-1.8.0-openjdk-devel

Java Version :
java -version

Now you are ready to Install Elasticsearch with below commands

sudo yum -y install https://extras.getpagespeed.com/release-latest.rpm
sudo yum -y install elasticsearch
sudo systemctl enable –now elasticsearch //Enable ElasticSearch

Verify Elasticsearch is running or not:

curl -XGET ‘localhost:9200/_cat/health?v&pretty’ // Verify it’s running

Configure Elasticsearch in Magento admin:
Log in to the Magento Admin as an administrator.
Admin > Stores > Settings > Configuration > Catalog > Catalog > Catalog Search.
From the Search Engine list, select your Elasticsearch version.

Now, do reindex once:
bin/magento indexer:reindex

Stop and start Elasticsearch service with below commands:

sudo -i service elasticsearch start
sudo -i service elasticsearch stop
or
sudo systemctl start elasticsearch.service
sudo systemctl stop elasticsearch.service
