Migrate Magento1.x to Magento2.x – Basic – Part 1:
Moving from Magento 1.x to 2.x is a process, not an upgrade. It is not possible to upgrade Magento 1.x store to Magento 2, but it is possible to migrate data from an existing Magento 1.x store to a new Magento 2 store.
